Dungeon Helper 5 is in beta

Dungeon Helper 5 is a ground-up rebuild, and the beta is open to everyone.

What’s different

Dungeon Helper 4 ran as a separate program that reached into each game client from the outside, and it drew its windows on top of the game. Dungeon Helper 5 runs inside DDO instead, and draws its toolbar and plugin windows as part of the game’s own display. It’s faster, the windows behave like part of the game, and each client runs its own copy, which suits multi-boxing.

Alongside it comes a new desktop app that installs and updates Dungeon Helper and your plugins, connects Dungeon Helper to each of your DDO installs, and keeps your settings safe across updates and reinstalls.

Plugins

Every plugin has been rebuilt for Dungeon Helper 5, and several are close to full rewrites:

  • Awesome AutoFollow adds hireling-style bars for each follower on the leader’s screen, ground rings that show who’s keeping up, a follow distance the leader sets, and triggers that drive followers’ hotbars from your own keys.
  • Mapster gets a new map window, community map data, route recording with 3D paths in the game world, party trails and trap outlines.
  • Scooper swaps its fixed categories for a rule table you can extend, and confirms every pickup.
  • Trove moves search into the Trove Viewer, which works with DDO closed, and adds search-scope presets and a Craftable tab.

These four come with the installer. Aligner, Fred and End Reward are also on the Dungeon Helper 5 plugin list, and more, including Reload, are on the way.

New: AI tools

Dungeon Helper can connect Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code Copilot or Codex to a database of DDO items, quests, crafting recipes and set bonuses, including a gear optimizer. Read more.
