If you play DDO in a window, especially with several accounts open at once, you know the routine of dragging every client back into place after each launch. Aligner remembers each account’s window position and size and restores them when the client starts. Save a layout once and every account opens where it belongs.

Getting started

  1. In DDO’s display options, set the game to Windowed (not Windowed Fullscreen), then restart the client.
  2. Log in on the account and arrange the window how you want it.
  3. Click the Aligner icon on the Dungeon Helper toolbar and press Save Now.
  4. Tick Auto-Restore.
  5. Repeat for each account. From then on, each account’s client opens at its saved position and size.

The Aligner window

  • Save Now saves this account’s current window position and size.
  • Restore Now puts the window back at the saved layout straight away.
  • Auto-Restore applies the saved layout whenever the client starts. It’s off until you tick it.

Good to know

  • Windowed mode only. Aligner reads DDO’s display setting when the client starts and does nothing in Fullscreen or Windowed Fullscreen. If you change the mode, restart the client.
  • One layout per account, shared by every character on that account. This is what makes multi-boxing work: each account’s client goes to its own spot.
  • Safe with monitors that come and go. If the saved position is on a monitor that’s no longer connected, Aligner leaves the window alone rather than moving it off-screen.
  • Resizes cleanly. When the size changes, Aligner has DDO lay out its interface again, so the HUD isn’t left mangled.
  • Settings from Aligner 1.x carry over.
