Checking for the latest version…

Reload watches your character in the background. It switches stances, imbues, auras, rages, pacts and dozens of class toggles back on when they drop. It keeps ranged ammo topped up by casting Conjure Arrows or Bolts or by using Summon Flame Arrow wands and scrolls. It can also keep a saved gear set equipped, or swap between four sets with a hotkey.

Reload is a quality-of-life helper, not a combat or heal bot: it only uses abilities and items that are already on your hotbars.

Getting started

  1. Put every ability you want Reload to manage on your hotbars. Only bars 1 to 10 are read.
  2. Toggle Reload on in game (press the backtick key (`), then Plugins), log in, and open Reload from the Dungeon Helper toolbar. Its pages are listed down the left side, and the controls light up once your character is detected.
  3. On the Combat page, choose your ammo type (tick Flame Arrow if you use flame wands, scrolls or Summon Flame Arrow), plus any stance, imbue or auto-attack.
  4. On each class page you need, tick Enable Class Toggles, then tick the toggles themselves. Past Lives and Minion have their own enable boxes too.
  5. Press Start at the top of the window. To have Reload start itself for this character next time, tick Start on Load on the General page.

The status light

The Start / Stop button, the status light and the latest message stay at the top of the window on every page.

ColourMeaning
GreenRunning; the last check finished
Orange-redStopped
BlueChecking now
Slate blueBetween actions, or waiting while you rest
WhiteWaiting for the game to be free
PurpleWaiting for an ability to come off cooldown
YellowPaused: your spellbook is open, or you’re teleporting or recalling
RedCan’t run: you’re dead, or your character or location can’t be read

The line beside the light shows the latest problem, for example “No generation ability for ConjureArrows.”

What it can manage

  • Ammo: arrows, bolts, darts, throwing axes, daggers and hammers, and shurikens. Reload keeps at least 20 in your ammo slot, loading from your quiver or inventory first and generating more when needed. Arrows and bolts come from Conjure Arrows/Bolts, falling back to Summon Flame Arrow when Flame Arrow is ticked. Thrown weapons use flame wands and scrolls only, so they need Flame Arrow ticked.
  • Combat: auto-attack, Rune-Arm use, Archer’s Focus or Improved Precise Shot, Heavy Draw, a combat stance, a battle stance, an imbue and a secondary imbue.
  • Buffs: Haste from spells or spell-like abilities, potions, clickies or scrolls. Clickies and scrolls have had the least testing.
  • Past lives: epic past-life toggles from all four spheres, and iconic stances.
  • Universal, racial and epic: Vistani Fortune, Hit the Streets, Diplomatic Immunity, Imbue with Shadow, Aasimar bonds, Shifter rages, Magic Fang, Embrace Death, Everything is Nothing, Primal Scream and epic destiny mantles.
  • Minions and pets: Iron Defender and other minions, about sixty summons, familiars and falconry pets.
  • Class toggles for Alchemist, Artificer, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid (including wild shapes and packs), Favored Soul, Monk, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock (pacts, blast shapes and essences) and Wizard.

Options that can’t be combined, such as two rages, untick each other.

Equipment sets

On the Equipment page you can build a Main set and three Quick Sets, covering all 21 equipment and cosmetic slots. Press Edit beside a set to open its editor:

  • Select picks an item for a slot from the ones you’re carrying.
  • Set Slot Equipped and Set All Equipped fill a slot, or the whole set, from what you’re wearing now.
  • Force Slot Empty keeps a slot bare: whatever is in it goes back to your backpack, so there has to be room for it.
  • Save Equipment as Set and Load Equipment Set keep named sets. Named sets are saved per account, so any character on that account can load them.

Tick Equipment Management Enabled and Reload puts your current set’s items back on whenever they’re in your inventory but not equipped. Each item goes to the exact slot the set names, so a ring returns to the same finger and an off-hand weapon to the off hand.

The General page has hotkeys to switch between Main and the Quick Sets, and to turn equipment management on and off. Spider Cult Mask Usage on the Equipment page is marked experimental.

Settings profiles

A profile copies one character’s setup onto another. On the General page, under Settings Profiles:

  1. Type a name and press Save Profile. Left blank, the profile takes the character’s name.
  2. Log in the other character, choose the profile from the list and press Load Selected Profile.

Loading replaces all of that character’s settings except its equipment sets, which belong to the character that owns the items. Delete removes a profile for good.

Settings

  • Character settings are saved per character, the moment you change them.
  • On the General page: Start on Load, a hotkey to start and stop Reload, the time between checks (4 seconds by default), the equipment hotkeys, and a button to reset this character’s settings.
  • Hotkeys and the time between checks are shared by all your characters.
  • Settings from Reload for Dungeon Helper 4 carry over the first time you log in. Equipment hotkeys and saved sets have to be set up again.

Good to know

  • Toggles on the Universal, Racial, Epic, Combat and Buffs pages run whenever they’re ticked; there’s no separate enable box for those pages.
  • Shadar-kai Displacement is on the Warlock page and needs Enable Warlock Toggles.
  • The Barbarian toggles and the Artificer’s Weapon Attachment are marked work in progress.
